I had a Ber fall off a pack in Chaos Sanctuary right after I portaled in on a level 68 Warlock, and that run took me a sweaty half hour. A few sessions later, Dreadfang showed up off a Herald of Terror on my third attempt. Grimoires are the quiet MVP too—once hex scaling comes online, early farming stops feeling like you're grinding with a blunt knife.
Routes I Actually Stuck With
Farming blind will cook your brain, so I tracked three spots on Hell at players 5 and tried to keep the pace honest. First was the Terrorized Pit of Acheron: 50 runs, about 4 minutes each, and 3 high runes across the set—solid, repeatable, low drama. Second was the Tower Cellar, which is still the rune workhorse; it's where my two Bers and a Jah came from, and it never feels like wasted time. Third was the Colossal Ancients, and this is the weird part: speed mattered more than anything. When I killed all four guardians under 90 seconds, the unique rolls felt noticeably better, and that's when I pulled a Bane's Garments set piece; slower clears gave me junk and regret.
Keeping Momentum Without Burning Out
The updated loot filter and extra stash tabs help a ton, because you're not spending half the night playing inventory Tetris. Even so, not everyone wants to grind another fifty hours just to test endgame setups, and I get that. If your goal is build testing or keeping up with the fresh economy, using a marketplace like U4GM for items or currency can be a practical shortcut while you focus on routing, breakpoints, and that under-90-second boss rhythm instead of staring at trade lobbies. |
