A year has passed, and we again invite you to awesome Siguldas Kauss 2025! This year in the mighty Gaujas valley forests,
August 8-10, 2025, where competition will take place on both banks of the ancient Gauja Valley. 1st day (MIDDLE) will be also WRE event. https://siguldastakas.lv/siguldaskauss2025/

We will offer participants a two-day competition format: on the first day – middle distance, on the second day – long distance. On Friday evening – an opportunity to get your legs moving at the City Sprint distance in Sigulda.

August 8th Long City Sprint – an opportunity to warm up for the Sigulda Cup by running through the city of Sigulda in an extended sprint distance.
Sigulda Cup 2025 Day 1 (August 9) – Middle Distance – is an IOF World Ranking Event (IOF WRE – International Orienteering Federation – World Ranking Event) and it gives runners in the W21E and M21E groups the opportunity to gain points in the IOF World Ranking.
Sigulda Cup 2025 Day 2 (August 10) – Long distance – LONG – will take you through the most beautiful and at the same time challenging places in Sigulda.
This year, the competition will take place in the vicinity of Sigulda, in the Gauja Valley, on both banks of the Gauja River. The area is characterized by pronounced relief forms – the deepest ravines in Latvia (>80m drop on one slope), bends and meanders, as well as the Gauja old ravines. The forest here is a typical ravine and slope forest with large relief forms and pronounced biodiversity, in which several specially protected habitats are found, such as old forests, slope and ravine forests, as well as sandstone outcrops.

The area has an extensive network of tourist trails and roads, which provides good access to the competition area and a variety of distances. There are no clearings in the forest. In places, spruce bark beetle damage is visible, but overall the terrain is good to average. The orienteering distances on both days will be technically and physically challenging.
